Iceland is hands down the most beautiful country I have ever visited. Granted, I've not travelled a huge amount, and I'm sure that there are places which can be considered more beautiful, but it will always have a place in my heart. It is probably helped by the fact that it was my first proper trip abroad - the first time that I had ever been on a plane - but I still think I would have found it just as breathtaking if it had been the hundredth country I had visited.

It is just absolutely stunning, and it's where I really fell in love with taking photographs. The first photograph that I'm proud of comes from Iceland. The water is so still and the bluest of blues. I will forever hold that photo in my heart, mostly because it reminds me just why I want to return there.

The things that I saw will stay with me forever. The natural beauty of that country is astonishing, and one day I want to visit it when it's not covered in snow. Yes, the snow was magical, but Iceland's true beauty is in the green of the grass and the blue of the water - not the white of the snow and ice. And I want to return and see the Northern Lights. When I visited, the weather had been perfect until the night that we were due to see them - it became cloudy and overcast and we couldn't take the trip because there was no chance of us seeing them. I was heartbroken, but life goes on. Swimming in the Blue Lagoon was the most amazing thing that I have ever done and I genuinely think I could do it every day without getting bored of it.

All you have to do is see a photograph of the country and its astounding beauty just hits you. But there's a difference between seeing photographs and actually experiencing it. And it's an experience that I want to have again and again. I will return, and I will take more beautiful photographs, and I will see the Northern Lights. And I hope that it's soon.
