the march playlist

Opening the curtains at half past six isn't something I particularly enjoy, but it's made a lot easier by a sunrise that stops you in your tracks. Being back on placement means a lot of travelling and tiredness, but it does mean I don't miss out on these moments. Once again I haven't posted anything all month, but at least I'm keeping up with this! How the hell is it halfway through March already, by the way?! Not okay. Anyhow: on to the music.

I'm super happy about all the new things that have surfaced this month; Florence and the Machine's release is as beautiful as expected, Mumford & Sons have completely changed tack but I kind of like it, and there is something refreshing and lovely about the new tune from The Tallest Man on Earth. I couldn't not include Bon Iver this month, considering it's what keeps me company on every early morning train journey throughout the week. The War On Drugs are featuring in tribute to my crazy boyfriend, who travelled to London twice in the space of a week to see them live. Alex Adair is helping me to feel summery, especially when it's miserable outside, and alt-J, José González, and Joni Mitchell are the perfect accompaniment to chilled out evenings (which are very much needed whilst on placement). And I decided I'd finally get around to including a song by Mo Evans, a friend of a close friend, who is an all round lovely chap and a marvellous singer-songwriter - I challenge you to listen to his EP and not enjoy it.

See you in a month's time, I guess!
