the december playlist

Christmas is on, gang. I am making zero apologies for this delightfully festive playlist, full of all of my Christmas faves. I feel as though I get more excited for Christmas now than I did when I was little, but I absolutely love everything about it. I am so ready for all the family time and food and gift giving. I don't even know what to say about most of these songs because they are just your standard Christmas deal and I love them all perhaps a little too much. Sam Smith's cover is beautiful; Wham! is one that I remember singing really loudly on car journeys to my Grandpa's for Christmas as a kid; I always get super sad if I'm on the drive home for Christmas and I don't hear Chris Rea on the radio; East 17 don't sing about Christmas per se but it's for sure a Christmas classic; Coldplay makes me want to wander the chilly London streets of a winter; Shakin' Stevens is an excellent one to sing along to; Wizzard is possibly the song that I remember most from childhood Christmasses; Elton John just because; Slade: IT'S CHRIIIIIIISTMAS (need I say more?); and the iconic entry from The Pogues - the Christmas song to end all Christmas songs. Do enjoy, and have the loveliest of festive seasons.
